ChatGPT recommended Meelu within 30 days of launch. Here is how.
A one-month-old site, no domain authority, and ChatGPT names it for “text similarity checker”. What I asked Meelu, what it suggested and what I learned about AI search.
The short version
Meelu.tech was less than a month old when ChatGPT started to mention it for queries like “text similarity checker”. Several established tools already compete for that query. On Google, the same page was not in the top 30 results.
I did not hire an agency or buy ads. I asked Meelu which free tools I should build, and I built the one it suggested.
What I asked Meelu
I asked one question: which free tools should I build to attract users?
Meelu researched keywords, looked for long-tail searches with real demand, and suggested a few tools. For each one, it explained what I could offer that the existing tools did not. One of them was a text similarity checker: paste two texts and get a similarity score.
What I had built before
Before that, I built an SEO audit tool and a keyword research tool. I picked those myself, without keyword research. Both markets are crowded with established players, and neither tool brought much traffic.
The difference was not effort. It was the choice of what to build.
Google and ChatGPT read the query differently
When someone searches for “text similarity checker”, Google mostly shows plagiarism checkers. That is a related intent, but not the same one. Many people want to compare two pieces of text and see how close they are.
ChatGPT seems to match that intent better. My page says plainly what it does, and that was enough for ChatGPT to name it, even though Google does not rank it yet.
How I checked it
I opened ChatGPT in an incognito window and did not log in. That matters: a logged-out session has no chat history and no memory of me, so the answer is not personalised to the person who built the tool.
I asked one question: “free text similarity checker”. ChatGPT listed three free tools. Meelu was second.

Further down, the answer ends with a recommendation: “Start with Meelu if you want to compare two documents and find matching passages.”

I also checked from a friend's laptop. ChatGPT does not mention Meelu every time, because AI answers vary from run to run. But it named Meelu often enough that it was not a fluke.
GA4 also shows visits that come from ChatGPT to the tool page.
What I take from it
- Pick a narrow intent over a crowded keyword. A small, clear tool for one job can get named by AI search before Google trusts the site.
- Say plainly what the page does. AI answers seem to reward pages that match the question directly.
- Test the same question many times, and in different words. One answer is not a result.
It is one example, so it is not proof. But it suggests that AI search can give a small site a way in before it has the reputation Google wants.
Try the same check on your site
Meelu tracks the questions your buyers ask ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI Overview. It shows which sites they cite and what your closest page is missing. Download Meelu or try the live demo.
