What it can and cannot see
The data the Analytics desk uses, how fresh it is, and what it does not do.
The Analytics desk answers from your website's own data in Meelu. It is good to know where that data comes from and where its limits are, so you can judge an answer.
The data it uses
The desk only sees data for the website you have open. It uses:
- Search Console data, from the Google account you connected.
- Google Analytics data, from the Google account you connected.
- Your crawled pages, from Meelu's crawl of your site.
- Your site audit, the technical issues Meelu found.
- Your content pieces, the pages you wrote in the Content desk.
If you have not connected Google yet, Meelu has no Search Console or Analytics numbers to work with. See Connect Google.
You cannot upload a spreadsheet or file to the Analytics desk. Everything it needs is already in Meelu.
How fresh the data is
Search data lags two to three days
Google takes two to three days to finish Search Console numbers. The most recent days are often missing or still low. Meelu knows this and does not report that gap as a drop in traffic. If you see a dip in the last few days of a chart, check the caveats before you worry.
The desk can only see as far back as the data Meelu has collected from your Google accounts.
What it does not do
- It does not change anything. The desk reads and explains. It never edits pages, content or settings. When a finding needs action, Meelu names the desk where you can act.
- It does not save on its own. Nothing becomes a report unless you ask, and Meelu asks for permission before it saves.
- It does not guess. If the data cannot support a question, Meelu says so instead of giving you a number. See When Meelu declines to answer.
- It does not run on the web. You ask questions in the Meelu desktop app. On the web you can read past chats and reports.
Working data between chats
To answer a question, Meelu prepares a working copy of the data it needs. Your website's data itself is never changed. Meelu clears working copies after 7 days without use. If you come back to an old chat, Meelu rebuilds what it needs, so the answer may take a little longer.
Cost
