Install the app
Download Meelu for macOS or Windows and open it for the first time.
Meelu is a desktop app. You install it on your computer, sign in, and do all your work there. The agent, the crawl and your Google connections all run on your own machine.
Where to download
The Mac app is signed and notarized by Apple. The Windows installer is not yet verified by Microsoft or Google, so on Windows you will see a security warning when you download and open it. This is expected. Only download Meelu from meelu.tech/download.
Which download to pick
Go to meelu.tech/download. The page picks the right build for your computer, but you can choose another one.
| Download | For |
|---|---|
| Download for macOS (Apple Silicon) | Macs with an M1, M2, M3 or M4 chip |
| Download for macOS (Intel) | Older Macs with an Intel processor |
| Download for Windows | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit |
Not sure which Mac you have? Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If it lists a "Chip" starting with "Apple", pick Apple Silicon. If it lists a "Processor" from Intel, pick Intel.
When you download, the site may ask for your email address and country so it can tell you about fixes and new versions. You can skip this.
Open it for the first time
On a Mac there is no security warning. On Windows, each warning below appears only once. After that, Meelu opens normally.
- Open the downloaded file and drag Meelu into Applications.
- Open Meelu. macOS asks if you are sure you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Click Open.
Why there is no web version
Meelu only runs in the desktop app. If you open your Meelu address in a web browser, it sends you to the download page. The app needs to be on your computer because it:
- runs the agent that reads, plans and drafts for you
- crawls your website from your own machine
- keeps your Google sign-in on your device, not on Meelu's servers
