Cannibalization

Find the searches your own pages split between them, and the pages that read almost the same.

Cannibalization is when two or more of your own pages show for the same search. Google then splits its attention between them, and often neither ranks well. This screen finds where it happens. You decide what to do about it.

Open it from the Cannibalization card on the SEO home screen.

Split queries

This list comes from your Search Console data for the last 28 days. It shows each search where more than one of your pages earned impressions, the biggest splits first.

ColumnWhat it shows
QueryThe search people typed.
PagesHow many of your pages showed for it.
ImpressionsHow often your pages showed for it, added up.
ClicksHow many clicks they got, added up.
PositionThe average position of your pages for it.
SplitHow evenly the impressions are shared. A query where one page gets almost all of them is not a problem.

Open a row to see each competing page with its share of the impressions and clicks. Use Find a query to search the list.

If Search Console is not synced yet, the list says so. Sync it on the Search performance screen.

Near duplicates

This list shows pairs of pages that can both appear in Google, read almost the same, and have no canonical tag between them. A canonical tag tells Google which of two similar pages is the main one. Each pair shows how similar the text is, how similar the titles are and whether the H1 is the same.

Ask Meelu

Two task cards sit at the top of the screen. Both run in the desktop app.

TaskWhat Meelu does
Who should own each query? For each split query, it reads the competing pages, suggests which one should own the search, and says what each other page adds.
Are these duplicates? It reads each near-duplicate pair and tells you whether they really repeat each other or serve different searchers.

Meelu does not change your pages

Meelu suggests. It does not rewrite, retitle, merge or redirect any page. Whether to refocus a page, merge two or leave them alone is your call.
